Archies: The Review you’ve been waiting for!

The wait for the Archies film directed by Zoya Akhtar has been a long one and it finally ends today! The film has hit Netflix and people have dropped all that they have to sit down with their favourite snack and dive into this specially curated nostalgic world. Zoya and Reema have done an exceptional job in preserving the familiar look and essence of the characters we fondly remember. The chemistry between the actors is seamless and loveable.

Nikos Andritsakis’ (Ugly, 2013; Detective Byomkesh Bakshy, 2015) cinematography and pretty frames are in sync with Akhtar’s whimsical vision for this film. Akhtar deserves credit for marrying worlds that might at the outset seem entirely divergent, for which both the film’s screenplay and dialogue reserve credit.
