Victory belongs to the most tenacious, after all. Kabir Khan’s film celebrates this thought. It’s about building yourself as a champion, even when the world looks at you like a laughing stock. The film has Forrest Gump’s free-flowing nature and Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’s essence to it, but unlike the two, this one feels a tad rebellious.

By not mounting this real-life story on a big canvas, Kabir lets the subtlety and simplicity of this story take center stage, and it works. I loved the way he sprinkles a generous dose of humour in his storytelling to make the story so relatable and light-hearted.
