Bollywood movies that prove “Pyar Dosti Hai”

Agar wo meri sabse achhi dost nahi ban sakti, toh mai pyaar kar hi nahi sakta.’ Rahul was speaking for us all when he redefined love as friendship. Over the years, we have seen Bollywood give us some iconic friendships that beautifully transformed into love.

  1. Kuch Kuch Hota Hai

The iconic 90s movie on love and friendship that made us believe in true love and wishing on stars! Rahul, Tina and Anjali are the best of college friends until friendship turns into love for all three. As destiny would have it, Rahul and Anjali meet years later and the latter’s daughter plans to reunite them. Cute doesn't begin to define the story.

  1. Hum Tum

When opposites meet, it isn't always attraction, and that's exactly what this story spells out. Rhea and Karan are fated to meet and run into each other a couple of time only to part and meet again. And what's interesting is when this love-hate relationship turns in to respect and mutual admiration for each other.

  1. Band Baaja Baaraat

A rollercoaster of emotions, this movie based on the story of two business partners who eventually fall for each other while planning weddings, is just plain sweet. How they then become friends to lovers sailing through many misunderstandings and clearing the air between them is something noteworthy.

  1. Wakeup Sid

The chemistry between Sid and Aisha is simply undeniable. Two people who hail from different backgrounds and having starkly different sensibilities help each other see different perspectives to life, each helping the other to be a better person. Here's a story of how every true friendship is perfectly flawed.

  1. Kal Ho Naa ho

The camaraderie between Naina and Aman is jovial and all sorts of loving only until the latter confesses to not loving her. One such story of unrequited love, wherein someone holds you so dear that they'd rather tell you they dont love you! Heart-touching.

  1. Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Naa

Jai and Aditi are two friends who everyone assumes are dating and are meant to be together. Well, except for themselves! The two best friends end up with different partners only to later realise their love for each other.

  1. Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani

Bunny and Naina hail from the same school and somehow end up on a fun trip together. Sometimes opposites make for good friends and lovers too! The coy Naina falls for the boisterous Bunny but chooses not to confess her love to him. What later unravels is a true bollywood story replete with a phone call from the airport.

These Bollywood movies remind us of true camaraderie and how the best relationships happen between best of friends. Grab a popcorn bucket and binge-watch these classic entertainers with your bestie today!
