Zanjeer (1973)
This film was the genesis of “The Angry Young Man”. Zanjeer still holds a special place in the hearts of the audience and two of the major reasons behind it were Amitabh Bachchan`s portal of Vijay and Salim-Javed`s writing.
Deewar (1975)
This iconic film from the 70s was an instant hit and people showered their love on Mr Bachchan portraying the character of Vijay. This film is still fresh in the audience's minds and is most remembered for its evergreen dialogue “Mere paas Maa hai”.
Shahenshah
More than 3 decades ago, Mr Bachchan showed the world who is the real boss when he became a vigilante and fought the villains as “Shahenshah”. The film was directed by Inder Raj Anand and is still a fad for Shahenshan`s costume and its iconic dialogue “Rishtey mein toh hum tumhare Baap lagte hai”.
Agneepath
It's a cult classic and Mr Bachchan`s portrayal of Vijay Deenanath is stupendous. For this film, he received the National Award and the film got its title from a poem written by Hrishvansh Rai Bachchan the same name.
Jhund
In his latest release, Amitabh Bachchan returned to his most iconic character name Vijay. But this time it was based on a real-life person Vijay Borade. The film is about a sports teacher who makes a football team of children from a slum area and how the game changes their lives forever.
