Life-changing lessons by Jehangir Khan from Dear Zindagi

Gauri Shinde’s Dear Zindagi was a simple but impactful film, that came with numerous life lessons. Shah Rukh Khan has been winning over hearts for the past three decades with his romantic roles. His part in Dear Zindagi was neither of the main character nor of a hero. He played the role of a psychiatrist Dr. Jehangir Khan (Jug) who uses unconventional methods to treat his patients. The simplicity and the depth of his character made us fall in love with him all over again. From time to time we all need some advice and a little bit of guidance to do better in our lives.

Given below are some learnings from Jehangir Khan, that can change your life.

  1. Ek kursi choose karne se pehle agar hum itni saari kursiyan dekhte hain, toh ek life partner choose karne se pehle humein options nahi dekhne chahiye kya?

When we choose a chair we weigh all our options carefully, but when it comes to some with whom we are gonna spend the rest of our lives, we settle for what we find first. That’s a big mistake considering that your choice will have an impact on your whole life. Therefore, one must weigh the options carefully, especially when choosing a life partner.

  1. Genius is not someone who has all the answers, but someone who has the patience for all the answers.

It is humanly impossible to know the answers to every question in this world. To be a genius one does not need to know it all. All they have to be is patient and wait for the answers.

  1. Zindagi me jab koi pattern banta hai ya koi aadat banti dikhai de na, toh uske baare me achhi tarah se sochna chahiye. Genius is about knowing when to stop

Habit is powerful tool that makes or breaks a person. We all get that warning by our conscience to stop the bad patters we are falling into. A genius is one who listens and stops.

  1. Jab hum khud ko samajh lete hain na, tab aur koi humare baare mein kya sochta hai farak nahi padta

Loving yourself in every situation takes a lot of efforts. But once you reach that point where you understand yourself and become your own favourite, you stop worrying about what others think or feel about you.

  1. Khul ke ro nahi sakogi toh khul kar has kaise paogi?

Being able to express your emotions freely is the most powerful thing. If you can’t cry and be vulnerable, you won’t be able to laugh and be happy.

  1. Don't let the past blackmail your present into ruining your future.

Let bygones be bygones. Now that you don’t have the power or a time machine to go back into the past and make it better, focus on your present.

Life has unconventional ways of teaching us lessons. Today it was Jug, tomorrow it maybe Gabbar. Who knows
