A look back at some of the best performances of the brilliant actress Anushka Sharma

Anushka Sharma started her Bollywood journey with ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’ in 2008. Her hard work and dedication has been helping her climb the stairs of success ever since. From being a fashion model for Wendell Rodricks to an actor and film producer, Anushka established her place in the hearts of her fans. It’s been four solid years since we last saw our Taani partner in action. Here are some of her best performances in case you feel like reliving those good old days.

  1. Phillauri:

In his attempts to ward off bad luck, Kanan marries a tree before his marriage, a spirit starts following him around. In order to make the spirit meet the man she loved, he digs into history alongwith her fiance. Phillauri is equal parts comedy and equal parts heartbreaking. But don’t worry, they all get their happy ending.

  1. Ae Dil Hai Mushkil:

Journey of Ayan and Alizeh, where they navigate through love and heartbreaks. Though the movie got entangled in a few controversies, it is still a good work of art. The songs and the plot will make you feel their pain.

  1. Dil Dhadakne Do:

It is a movie that comes with a powerful message, ‘let the heart beat’ and follow its own desired path. Even though Anushka Sharma’s character is not of the protagonist, it does a great job in inspiring them. It has it everything from drama, romance, to comedy.

  1. Sui Dhaaga:

  1. Jab Tak Hai Jaan:

The story follows a love triangle. Meera, a woman who believes that her ‘negotiation’ with God always works in her favour. This belief leads her to a point where she prays God to save her boyfriend Samar and in return, she’ll stay away from him. After a tumultuous turn of events, Samar goes on and joins the bomb disposal squad. Akira, a documentary filmmaker, falls in love with him while filmimg for a documentary on him. Although the plot is simple, there is no other movie like it.

  1. Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi:

An awe inspiring lovestory of a common man Sukhi, and Taani, a high spirited, fun-loving, carefree woman. The story is simply beautiful and heart warming. To top it off, the songs will make you sing out loud.

  1. Band Baaja Baaraat:

The duo, Shruti Kakkar and Bittoo Sharma, go on a roller-coaster ride of emotions, when they decide to start a business together. It is a love story set in the world of wedding planning. Combine it with foot-tapping music and you have a formula for an entertaining masterpiece.

  1. NH 10:

The retreat that was supposed to be fun and fantastic, turns into a nightmare, when a married couple cross paths with a dangerous gang. It has action and thrill. The movie was also co-produced by Anushka Sharma under her production house, Clean Slate Filmz. The storyline is thrilling and will have you on the edge of your seat.

  1. PK:

Lost on Earth, with no way to communicate with his people, an alien makes friends with Jaggu, a news reporter. Giving out a powerful message, it is one of the best works of Anushka Sharma.
