1. Lage Raho Munna Bhai(2006)
Vidya bagged the role of the chirpy RJ Jhanvi in Rajkumar Hirani's sequel to 'Munnabhai M.B.B.S.'. It went on to become the first Hindi film ever to be shown at the UN - and bagged a whole lot of awards. Although Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi stole the show, Vidya Balan's acting also received due praise.
2. Bhool Bhulaiyaa (2007)
Vidya was brilliant in the film with her role as Avni and Manjulika as the schizophrenic/possessed. Her versatility won the hearts of a lot of people, and she became a star in Bollywood after.
3. Ishiqiya (2010)
As time passed, Vidya became quite popular in B-town. With the black comedy 'Ishqiya', her role of Krishna Verma - a sexually manipulative woman with grey morality - marked a departure from the conventional portrayal of women in Indian cinema.
4. The Dirty Picture (2011)
With 'The Dirty Picture', Vidya Balan blew everyone's mind with her portrayal of Silk Smitha. Proving that curvy is way more attractive than skinny and that there is dignity even in bold roles, Vidya threw shade on every other actress in 2011 with back-to-back powerful movies.
5. Kahaani (2012)
Another one of Vidya's poignant performances that completely bowled us over, 'Kahaani' was a great film that Vidya did. No doubt it would have been a treat to see Vidya reprising her role of the vengeful Vidya Bagchi.
