Lesser known facts about Anil Kapoor

Anil Kapoor is a name that needs no introduction in the world of Indian cinema. With a career spanning over four decades, he has charmed audiences with his incredible acting skills and infectious energy. While many may be familiar with his iconic roles and notable achievements, here are some lesser-known facts about Anil Kapoor that showcase his versatility and make him even more fascinating:

1. The Acting Debut

Did you know that Anil Kapoor made his acting debut in a regional film? Before venturing into Bollywood, he appeared in a Telugu film called "Vamsa Vruksham" in 1980. This lesser-known fact highlights his willingness to explore different film industries and his dedication to honing his craft.

2. Not just an actor but a singer too!
Not many know that Anil Kapoor is a trained semi-classical singer. He is an all-rounder when it comes to talent. He has sung in ‘Pyar Kiya Nahi Jaata’ from ‘Woh 7 Din’ (1983) and ‘I Love You’ from ‘Hamara Dil Aapke Paas Hai’ (2000). The actor said that he feels nervous and scared while singing.

3. Don’t call me Jhakaas
Anil Kapoor didn't consider that the "Jhakaas" dialogue would become so popular that half of the nation would start chanting it. He never imagined that "Jhakaas" would become a part of his character. Wherever he goes, he sees his fans cheering to the "Jhakaas" from his movie “Yudh”.

4. Not the first choice for Mr. India
According to sources, the role of Arun Varma or Mr. India was initially written for Amitabh Bachchan due to his powerful baritone, but he declined the script. Director Shekhar Kapur then approached Rajesh Khanna, who also rejected the project due to its experimental concept. Eventually, Anil Kapoor took on the role, and the rest is history. Mr. India went on to become a must-watch Bollywood film.
