Top movies of Amitabh Bachchan that gave birth to new trends

Amitabh Bachchan is an icon and has inspired a plethora since the inception of his career. He has a long-established legacy and people follow him for his style, personality, versatile acting and selection of his films. On the occasion of his 80th birthday, here are a few of his movies which gave birth to new trends.

1. Zanjeer

This film changed the course of Bollywood from romantic to the action-packed cinema. In that era, India was submerged in corruption and greed and Zanjeer gave them the hero who fights against all odds to maintain the equilibrium in the society. This film was Amitabh Bachchan`s first solo hit and also the inception of his screen name Vijay which he later used in more than 20 movies.



2. Yaarana 
This film was an Indian adaptation of a Hollywood film ‘Sleeping with the Enemy’. The original film was a thriller which was shaped into a comedy thriller for the Indian audience. The film is iconically remembered for the song ‘Saara Zamaana Haseeno ka Deewana' where Mr Bachchan wore a stupendous black jacket with lights on it. The jacket had its own fan following and people replicated it and wore it in social gatherings.


3. Deewar
This film was one of the highest-grossing films of the 70s. It is mostly remembered for Mr Bachchan`s acting and the iconic dialogue‘ Hum jaha khade hote hai line wahi se shuru hoti hai’. Amitabh Bachchan`s hairstyle in this film became a craze among his fans. People started adapting his hairstyle in their personal lives and barber shops at that time had a special Amitabh Bachchan style haircut.


4. Don
Amitabh Bachchan plays a double role in this crime action thriller, as Bombay underworld boss Don and his lookalike Vijay. The bellbottom costume of Don became a rage amongst his fans and this trend of wearing bellbottoms continued for over 2 decades.


5. Sooryavansham 
This film was released in the 90s and was an average grosser at the box office. A plethora of memes and posts have been made out of this film and Suryavansham memes have a separate fan following in today`s time.
