Himesh Reshammiya Through the Years: The Story Behind His Musical Success and Acting Career
Himesh Reshammiya is one of Bollywood's most successful musicians, with a career spanning over two decades and more than 1,300 songs to his credit. From composing chart-topping soundtracks to becoming a popular playback singer and actor, he has built a lasting legacy in the Indian film industry.
Born on 23 July 1973, Himesh made his debut as a music director with Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya (1998), before rising to fame with Tere Naam (2003). He went on to create memorable soundtracks for films like Aashiq Banaya Aapne, Welcome, Bodyguard, and OMG – Oh My God!, while songs such as "Jhalak Dikhla Ja," "Tera Suroor," and "Hookah Bar" became massive hits.

Despite his success, Himesh also faced criticism for his unconventional singing style and mixed reviews for his acting career. Films like The Xposé divided audiences, while others struggled at the box office. Even so, he continued to reinvent himself through television, independent music, and films, including the 2025 release Badass Ravi Kumar.
