A debut film is the first time we see an actor in front of our eyes, portraying the character written for them. Some actors have hits while others have missed in their breakout roles.

Here are the ten actors who wowed everyone with their debutant roles.

Aamir Khan - Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak (1988)

Now known as the perfectionist of Bollywood, no one knew about the powerhouse of talent, Aamir Khan, in his first film Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak. The film went on to garner 5 crores at the box office, where he impressively played the role of Raj Singh in the musical adaptation of Romeo and Juliet. 

Ajay Devgn – Phool Aur Kaante (1991)

We will always thank this movie for giving us the iconic entry scene where Ajay Devgn balances between two bikes. In this film, the actor played the son of a criminal don, who faces a major moral dilemma. The rest, as they say, is history. 

Hrithik Roshan and Ameesha Patel - Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai (2000)

There probably is no better debut in Bollywood than that of these two actors. The film went on to garner 45 crores at the box office, catapulting Hrithik into stardom almost overnight. The film won 92 awards in various ceremonies, with Hrithik’s performance as Rohit and Raj making its mark in history.
