Bollywood Sequels over the years!

Lights, Camera, Action! These three words are a joy to anyone who is crazy about films. The Bollywood filmmakers have created some outstanding films over the years and what’s better is making a sequel and creating a series. The audience enjoys watching their favourite stars and there’s nothing better than enjoying a series of films.

Here are a few films that have got sequels and have enjoyed great success at the box office too.

1. Hera Pheri (2000) & Phir Hera Pheri (2006) 

In the first part of the comedy series, Hera Pheri starred Akshay Kumar, Sunil Shetty, Paresh Rawal, and Tabu. It was directed by Priyadarshan and he did complete justice to this masterpiece. The second part of the series had the same three actors along with the inclusion of Bipasha Basu and Rimi Sen. Both the films were hilarious and the characters played their roles to perfection.

2. Golmaal (2006), Golmaal Returns (2008), Golmaal 3 (2010) & Golmaal Again (2017


The Rohit Shetty series of Golmaal has featured some big names like Ajay Devgn, Tusshar Kapoor, Arshad Warsi, Sharman Joshi, Shreyas Talpade, Kareena Kapoor, Johnny Lever, Parineeti Chopra, Mithun Chakraborty and more. Every film has some very funny scenes which are well directed.

3. Dhoom (2004), Dhoom 2 (2006) & Dhoom 3 (2013)

The Dhoom series is an action thriller that has starred John Abraham, Abhishek Bachchan, Aamir Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Uday Chopra, Rimi Sen, Esha Deol, and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. The plot revolves around numerous robberies and has the police chasing the robbers and eventually succeeding in nabbing them.

4. Don (2006) & Don 2 (2011)

"Don Ko Pakadna Mushkil Hi Nahi Namumkin Hai”, the famous dialogue came from the movie Don. The SRK thriller was a remake of the 1978 Don that starred Big B in the lead role. Both the movies starring SRK were directed by the versatile Farhan Akhtar. King Khan played the perfect villain and proved why he’s one of the best in the business.

5. Dabangg (2010), Dabangg 2 (2012) & Dabangg 3 (2019)

The action favourite Salman Khan took center stage in all 3 parts of the Dabangg series. He plays the role of a fearless police officer who is always ready to fight it out against evil. His character is named Chulbul Pandey and he’s also known as Robin Hood Pandey since he likes to help the needy.

6. Singham (2011) & Singham Returns (2014)

Another Rohit Shetty action thriller, Singham & Singham Returns has Ajay Devgn playing the role of a cop. He has the responsibility to face-off against Jaikant Shikre who is a politician in the first part. Ajay Devgn aka Bajirao Singham did a brilliant job in both the films.

7. Baahubali: The Beginning (2015) & Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (2017)

Why did Katappa kill Baahubali? This discussion was never-ending until the second part of the film hit the theatre screens. Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Tamannaah & Anushka Shetty play the main roles in the films. The big movie sets and some amazing action scenes gave it an X-factor,

8. Gangs of Wasseypur – Part 1 (2012) & Gangs of Wasseypur - Part 2 (2012)

The Gangs of Wasseypur series is centered on the coal mafia of Dhanbad in Jharkhand. It is directed by Anurag Kashyap and the film includes a lot of violence and received an "Adults Only" certification. The movie had some very big names - Manoj Bajpayee, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Huma Qureshi, Pankaj Tripathi, Richa Chadda, Piyush Mishra and Rajkummar Rao. The films received a lot of praise for the acting and the direction.
