Prior to launching alongside Alia Bhatt and Sidharth Malhotra in his debut vehicle ‘Student of the Year’, Varun studied business at the Nottingham Trent University, United Kingdom. When his interest in films peaked, he assisted Karan Johar on ‘My Name is Khan’.
After garnering praise for his debut in ‘Student of the Year’, Varun was seen on silver screen straight after two years with father David Dhawan's directorial - Main Tera Hero. His performance tickled the critics and audiences’ funny bone and left them in splits.
While receiving praise for his comic timing in his previous movie, Varun Dhawan, entered the rom-com genre with ‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya’. His endearing charm left audiences wanting more.
