Director Karan Johar at the age of 25, with his first film "Kuch Kuch Hota Hai" made a mark for himself in the Indian film industry.
With his directorial venture which was appreciated both critically and commercially in India and overseas, he brought a fresh and modern outlook to commercial film industry. The film broke box-office records all over the world. Entering the UK charts at No. 3 (December 14th 2001 Weekend), it stayed there for 4 weeks.
His other blockbuster, “Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham”, holds the prestigious record of being the 1st Indian film to enter the US charts.
Apart from direction, Mr. Johar also hosts a popular television show, "Koffee with Karan".
