He received recognition for his outstanding performance in the film "Mere Apne" in 1972 followed by another successful film "Achanak" in 1973. This promising actor played villainous roles in both movies, and thereafter he paired up with "Amitabh Bachchan" in films like "Hera Pheri", "Amar, Akbar Anthony", "Parvarish", "Khoon Pasina" and "Muqaddar Ka Sikandar".

This clearly was a winning combination as these films were super hits and are still some of the most memorable Hindi films of all times. Mr. Khanna is a Member of Parliament and is the voice of the film industry in the corridors of power.
