MUSIC. Synonymous with Indian Cinema. Played long after the film’s credits roll.
Film music goes beyond Indian shores reaching millions of film fans everyday. This year IIFA focuses on music in Indian films through the IIFA Music Workshop – ‘Music: Bringing Indian Cinema Alive’ exploring the elements that go into the creation of a song from the composition and lyrics to the arrangement and singing.
The workshop will feature a host of eminent personalities including lyricists Javed Akhtar and Prasoon Joshi, music composers Vishal-Shekhar and Shantanu Moitra, and film directors Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and Zoya Akhtar. The panelists will share anecdotes, trivia and personal experiences from their iconic films in an interactive session with the audience. Industry veteran, Atul Churamani will be moderating this session with the film directors and musicians.
The unique aspect of this workshop will be the element of spontaneity and the birth of brand new songs created before a LIVE audience. The film directors will share a situation with the lyricists, who will then share their writing with the composers. These creations will then be performed LIVE in front of the audience. The panelists will also engage in a 'Q and A' session with the audience, thereby giving the audience an opportunity to personally interact with the illustrious panelists.
A host of Indian singers are also expected to attend the event, including Hariharan, Lesle Lewis, Usha Uthup, Shreya Ghoshal, Mohit Chauhan, and Harshdeep Kaur. Eminent Indian directors and producers will also be in attendance.
The IIFA Music Workshop promises great music, great music and more great music. Come be a part of this experience!
