Mumbai, July 9 2015: IIFA 2015 took Malaysia by storm and had fans across the globe keeping an eye out on Social Media sites for the latest snatches on information at the Weekend. Three days of pure entertainment madness, IIFA 2015 saw the biggest and brightest celebrities descend on the city of Kuala Lumpur.

With the 21st century’s obsession and appetite for instant updates, selfies, tweets and Facebook posts, it was only natural that IIFA kept fans satiated by way of Social Media. This year’s campaign saw a plethora of innovative mediums that kept consumers engaged and enthralled by the excitement and glamour of the IIFA Weekend. The telecast of the extravaganza saw a veritable frenzy on Twitter where fans and stars tweeted constantly about their favorite moments of the show and the hashtag #IIFA2015 trended at number 1 on the site and among the top ten trending themes globally making IIFA the first Indian entertainment event to trend among the top ten. With stars, fans, journalists, bloggers and Color Channels ‘stars’ and management on Twitter, #IIFA 2015 set a new benchmark on multiple fronts.

Fans got the chance to be a part of the Green Carpet at IIFA with a Facebook video lounge where they could ask their favorite stars a question. With the ingenious use of Facebook API’s a touch screen experience was created for celebrities to answer the questions. Each celebrity would get to pick a question by tapping on 1 of the 5 profile photos of their fans. This activity gave fans a unique opportunity to interact with their favorite stars and truly experience the magic of IIFA.

Fans could interact and experience all of the electrifying green carpet action live from the three-day extravaganza as #fame beamed live events as they happened, celebrities lost their hold on gravity with Instagrams Gravity Booth and a Facebook video lounge allowed celebs and their admirers to interact live.

#fame, India’s first LIVE video entertainment app beamed LIVE action from the 16th IIFA weekend making it the world’s longest LIVE broadcast of an event for three continuous days. Armed with just smartphones, the #fame crew of on-ground producers was mobile at multiple action and vantage points of the 3day Bollywood extravaganza and did 200 + beam hours LIVE.

With real-time updates reaching fans across the globe the app clocked Cumulative Watch Mins of 2 lac + watched minutes. The team did LIVE beams of all the IIFA happenings, right from the time stars arrived at the airport to Hotel check-ins. Through these beams, viewers were able to see what ensemble their favorite celebrity were donning at the green carpet, and could do special interaction via the app with the Dil Dhadakne Do starcast, singers Shankar, Ehsaan, Loy and Siddharth Mahadevan’s exciting music workshop as they created a new song live, and exclusive behind the scenes from the show.

The energy levels at IIFA defied gravity with the Instagram Gravity booth that was constructed with a movie theme. Elements like a camera, director, producer chairs and various props to play around it with got celebrities excited at the prospect of floating around the room. All the pictures gave an illusion of celebrities hanging upside down defying gravity.

This year’s IIFA created new milestones in the entertainment event space taking social media interaction to the next level.
