The glitterati of Indian Cinema brought the glitz and oomph to the 11th Videocon IIFA Weekend in Sri Lanka, translating onto the IIFA Foundation Fashion Extravaganza stage. Fashion and the fashion-ability of the stars has always been an important element of Indian cinema's appeal and the IIFA's has proven time and again to be an apt stage for the two.

The IIFA Foundation Fashion Extravaganza - IIFA Bling exhibited celebrity showcases by designers, Rocky S and Nandita Mahtani. The suave Rocky S showcased classy suits with a twist, creating an old English school feel while Nandita Mahtani's line included evening wear, appealing to women of all ages. The night brought the bling, starting off with Neeta Lulla's collection adorned by gorgeous large pieces of diamond jewelry keeping with Gitanjali 15 year anniversary. The duo from "America Got Talent' - Nuttin' but Stringz mesmerized everyone with an enthralling jugalbandi on violin, while DJ Whosane played live for both Indian designers.

Colombo saw a consecutive plethora of stars at IIFA Bling including, Dino Morea, Riya Sen, Raima Sen, Dia Mirza, Zarine Khan, Neha Dhupia, Sharman Joshi, Jacqueline Fernandez, Aftab Shivdasani, Viveik Oberoi, Sophie Chaudhary, Isha Sharvani, Hussain Kuwajerwala, Vinod Kambli, Arjan Bajwa, Arya Babbar, Sonu Sood, Chunky Pandey and Ishita Arun, among others. The night was hosted by Gauhar Khan and presented by Gitanjali Lifestyle.

The style quotient was soaring at the IIFA Rocks show, hosted by actors, Viveik Oberoi and Dia Mirza. This year, designers to the stars, Manish Malhotra and Vikram Phadnis showcased their collections at the BMICH - Convention Centre, Colombo. The Manish Malhotra collection is inspired from textures of the Mughal period influenced by the British Raj, albeit retaining a contemporary perspective. Lanka's own, Jacqueline Fernandez emanated grace as she walked the ramp for Manish Malhotra alongside Sri Lankan Cricketer, Kumar Sangakkara, beautifully dawning a blue and white sherwani. Draped in an empire waist, maroon velvet lehenga with heavy gotta borders, and an apposite ankle length sequined nude sheer mesh top, flared at the helm; Jacqueline's look was praised widely.

The colour-infused, ethnic collection by Vikram Phadnis had an influence of costumes and styles inspired by Indian films through the years. Draped by Phadnis in a black and gold lehenga and a heavily gold sequinced choli, Malaika Arora Khan sashayed down the catwalk to the tunes and jugalbandi of Kailash Kher and Salim-Sulaiman. In a special treat to the host country, this year, 'IIFA Rocks' also featured leading Sri Lankan designers, Yoland and Kanchana (KT Brown). Both designers concentrated in bringing out a collection that fused the Sri Lankan expression with the Indian. Yoland's collection, in particular, exhibited pieces depicting the Sri Lankan traditional mask and floral designs inspired from the country.

Sanjay Dutt, Bipasha Basu, Kunal Kapoor and Anupam Kher added the sizzle, showcasing their upcoming film - Lamhaa's garb at IIFA Rocks. One of the major highlights of the night was the unveiling of the first look of Dabaang. Stars of the film, Salman Khan and newcomer, Sonakshi Sinha donned the film-inspired look.

The Extravaganza is of special significance as it supports the IIFA Foundation. The Foundation is a charity organization set up by the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) to support families of the film industry workers who have been adversely affected during the production of films.
